Hot, Hot, Hot and Delicious!

a-to-z-letters-h is for Hot and Delicious!

We eat pretty well around these parts, in spite of the fact that money is tight.  I like to think that it’s because I’m a decent cook.  And certainly some of the credit goes to friends who are willing to share great recipes!  Today I want to share my friend, Crystal P’s recipe for Stuffed Jalapeno Peppers.  DH and I loved them and I hope you will love it as well!

Stuffed Jalapeno Peppers
OH! These are tasty and easy to make!  The recipe has only four ingredients and the level of spice is easily adjusted.  Use as an appetizer, take to a pot luck or eat as a spicy side dish!

You will need:
  • 30 Jalapeno Peppers
  • 24oz Ground Italian Sausage (Mild or Hot, it’s your preference!)
  • 16oz Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1 cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese or Italian Cheese Blend

1-Brown Italian Sausage
First, brown the Italian Sausage in a skillet and drain if needed.
Preheat oven to 375°F.

2-Prepare peppers
Prepare your jalapenos by washing them, removing the tops and seeds, and slicing lengthwise.

Mix sausage and softened cream cheese in a small bowl.
Fill and smother the jalapenos with the cheese and sausage mixture.

Bake for twenty minutes or until the peppers are cooked.  Remove from oven and add Parmesan or Italian Blend to peppers.  Return to oven for approximately five more minutes or until the cheese is melted and nicely browned.

Enjoy!

For extra heat, use Hot Italian Sausage and leave a few of the seeds in the peppers!  I used Mild Sausage and removed all the seeds and the heat was just right for me!

If you decide to try this recipe, I’d love to hear what you think!

  3. This sounds hot and good! I know my kids would think I'm crazy for fixing something HOT, but I'll tell them it's a treat for me. I grew peppers two summers ago and this would have been a great recipe for all those peppers. Saw this on LWML and had to take a peek. Stop by http://makeitorfixit.com when you get a chance.
