Captured with My Camera

a-to-z-letters-c is for Captured with my Camera

Yesterday afternoon a storm rolled in and proved that winter isn’t quite done with Colorado.  This morning I captured some of the beauty left behind!

1
The hens were excited to get a special treat of “chicken mush” I made for them!

2
Prissy enjoyed her grains this morning, but didn’t dare venture over to the mush.

3
Quasimodo was not excited to have me photographing his ladies!  He decided to attack me; this shot is just before his first run at me.  I’m pretty sure he thinks he won the battle because he got me out of the enclosure!

4
Even once I was out of the enclosure, Quasimodo wouldn’t take his eyes off me.

5
Quasi giving me the stink eye!  This seriously makes me laugh!

6
Quasi warning everyone who will listen that there’s danger (me) in the area!

7
Our barn this morning.  I just love how the snow clings to the trees and fences!

8
I love the contrast of the gate covered in snow.  Gorgeous!

9
This tree is just outside my kitchen window.  Today it’s covered in snow, and in a few weeks when spring finally arrives here it will be filled with chirping birds!

10
This isn’t really a pretty shot, but I wanted to show how the snow covered the chicken enclosure.  It is amazing in person!

11
Our firewood supply will keep us warm for at least a few more winters!

12
The bell outside our front door.  On really windy days, it rings as if a ghost were swinging on the bell pull!

What do you see out your window today?

  1. The snow is so beautiful! But I say that as I sit here in sunny 80-degree California. But seriously, your pictures are great and it really is beautiful. Your chicks are too!

  5. Of course, I went straight to your chicken post. :)
So many things to say. 1. what do you put in your chicken mush? 2. I am afraid of our roosters when we get them. They have torn through people's pants and left serious marks. I know. I'm a wimp when it comes to them. 3. Are those all different "rooms" in your chicken enclosure. It looks quite interesting. 4. I love the bell photo best. 5. As pretty as it is, I'm glad we're done with the snow. (Knock on wood.)
